The rationale of the English Defence League as explained by one of its marchers.
I have no idea what he means about the rayguns. Anyone wanna try?
(HT to CR)
I have no idea what he is talking about nor likely does he.
This pathetic creature would fit in nicely with some of the moronic loons I meet here in southern Arizona at gun shows trying to drum up support for a run for county sheriff or the state legislature.
Muslamic Rayguns= Islamic Rape Gangs
This man is troubled by reports of fact from London. One is that regions of the city are now proclaimed by public signs posted in the street claiming that the local communities are under the control of Sharia. Local merchants are harassed and bullied or put out of business to ensure they do not stock goods of which Sharia disapproves. Sharia neighbourhood watch groups patrol the streets. How serious this problem is, is hard to judge. press reports suggest London police really don't like this, but can't quite figure out what to do about it.
The "rayguns" are rape gangs. Here again, this fellow speaks of fact. There have been successful prosecutions in more than one industrial British city in recent months of gangs of Muslims who have followed the practise of luring and seducing -- that's a very polite word, chosen because I don't know much about FP editorial usage: the F word belongs here -- non-Muslim children, some apparently aged around 12 and 13 for one more than the usual reason. The girls are debauched by alcohol and other drugs then passed from hand to hand -- again, I'm inaccurate -- within the gangs for both the usual reasons women get raped, and also to degrade and mock "Christian" society. Of course, most of the vulnerable kids have no religion at all, and poor home lives.
Police photos of the swine convicted of such offenses show that they're much older than their prey. They want to tear "Christian" society apart, so Muslim law can take over. They're raping strategically. This is just like news from the former Yugoslavia 20 or 30 years ago, and not just Muslim. it's small-scale ethnic cleansing by rape. It's also like what the Red Army got up to in Germany in 1944-5, doing their worst to ensure that any babies born there had Russian fathers. In the former Yugoslavia a few decades ago, virtuous Muslim women were gang raped, in some cases for months, until they were known to be carrying a child fathered by a "Christian". Many then had their breasts and bellies disfigured by their rapists, using bayonets or other cutting tools so they now carry for the rest of their lives scarred representations of the wooden cross on which Jesus Christ died on Golgotha many years ago.
The issues presented by the interviewed man in the YouTube clip here are serious and excellent reason for citizen demonstrations. I say this without knowing what else these demonstrators want and so do not endorse them.
Closing point: the YouTube interview shows that class war is alive and well in Britain today, despite all British claims that it's a thing of the past. The joy of the TV interviewer at finding a man who sounds like an idiot is naked. The man sounds stupid, and he sounds ... well, not like the sort of person who gets to be an interviewer in the news game. This brings alive something written by the Irishman George Bernard Shaw, explaining why he wrote the play "Pygmalion" in 1912, a century ago: "The English have no respect for their language, and will not teach their children to speak it. They spell it so abominably(Shaw was a spelling reformer, not very successfully) that no man can teach himself what it sounds like. It is impossible for an Englishman to open his mouth without making some other Englishman hate or despise him. German and Spanish are accessible to foreigners: English is not accessible even to Englishmen."
For that reason, he wrote a play with a phonetician, Henry Higgins, as its hero. That was converted nearly half a century later into the musical My Fair Lady. "
Fess up: when you listened to that clip, didn't you despise that Englishman for the way he sounded? Mr Ricks seemingly did.
Kunino with the k.o. Who can add to that response?
But, I thought with all the cameras, invasive regulations, and successful foreign interventions with their American partner, Britain wouldn't have any problems, it should be a veritable Promised Land? What went wrong?
So this kid isn't entirely up to snuff, technically speaking. The causes of his anger should be discussed, and not in a we-need-more-cameras-laws-police-and-speech-codes kind of way, that is unless one is fine with a totalitarian, hypocritical regime. As a citizen of a nation that has had a less than stellar decade, due to the entire country going apesh&t back in 2001, I'm not too smug towards other people who might get their facts wrong.
The current British regime (whatever they decided to call themselves- T or L) will not allow an honest discussion of the issues Kunino raises, to do so would be to question the official mythology. Everyone wins from globalization, we need more of it. At a time of high unemployment, more population is a sure fix. Britain is a great example of a society suffering under sub-par, greedy, and hypocritical leadership.
The lower class individuals most directly affected by these problems, including the social and cultural "problems" alluded to, are dismissed by the wealthy and upper middle class, who do profit from globalization, yet who don't have to deal directly with negative outcomes, and told that they aren't serious or are operating entirely from "hate." "Hate" in this instance is an ideological tool reliant on deserved or undeserved guilt, much like sin used to be, to control the lower classes. Who wants to be a hater? Suck it up, chav, we are all winners, you just haven't been reading the Economist enough to understand.
Re the last sentence, contemporary faux-egalitarianism on the Center-Left is as inconsistent, and thus annoying, as the Center-Right's faux-populism. Tommy's grandson, the chav, is a good fellow provided he goes off to Kandahar or wherever else Cameron thinks he should go. In the meanwhile, if his community disintegrates, well, got to break a few eggs to make an omelet.
I did learn something, though, I thought muslimo-rayguns were only used by Islamofacists operating in Latin America, allied with their Mexican drug cartel allies, and working at the behest of the Chinese, all with an aim to "challenge" America and end freedom, including the internet. Good thing we have Serious People(tm) in and out of government to deal with these challenges.
@ LITTLEMANTATE
Your post was well written and right on target. The dismissal of the lower class by the ruling elite has caused many of our societal problems and will only cause more in the near future. Both parties of Wall Street have no concern for the well being of those who live here.
Some days you're a far-left lunatic; today you're a far-right lunatic. (I guess you're in that netherworld where the two meet....ah, the internet is a wonderful thing.)
And lieber, you're a textbook neoconservative
or neoliberal, the difference between the two being negligible.
no contradiction in my positions, unless one limits the definition of left or right according to current centrist dogma. It is also no contradiction if one abandons universalism.
I am opposed to neo-liberalism and globalization, seeing them as destructive forces, whose negative effects outweigh the positive. What might make me seem inconsistent, is that, unlike many paleo-conservatives, I think the South is indefensibly hypocritical and a horrible model for any society. Defense of the South is arguably and demonstrably motivated by racism. In terms of gender and age, paleoconservatives want to replace the tyranny of the DC state with a gerontocratic local tyranny, which is bound to work great, just look at Afghanistan, look at the behavior of the Baby Boomers.
The paleoconservatives also demonize the wrong groups, in my opinion. Chomsky, old Marxist professors, and the hippies have no clout, the expansion of the intrusive State is the work of centrists, some of whom can be quite conservative economically. It is also not the work of a shadowy 1%, certainly the very wealthy direct the flow of history, but their goals are actualized by the acquiescence and assistance of the top 10-20%, sf Mosca and Pareto.
I am pro personal autonomy, you know liberty, thinking that it is under attack from the machinations of technocratic petty tyrants who, while opposed to social conservatives, often work in tangent with faux-populists of the GOP. They've done it before- Prohibition.
I break with libertarians by being opposed to free trade, globalization, and boosterism. I don't know why so many Americans assume greed is a necessary component of conservatism or even being an American. People should be free to be greedy, and the community should be free to disparage them for greed and ostentatious display of wealth. That isn't the case, despite statements about the 1% to the contrary. What we have in America today is a monster, combining the worse elements of positive liberty and negative liberty. It is unsustainable, unless you are fine with the US becoming the 3rd world and a place where Amish farmers selling raw milk need to be dealt with by officers packing heat.
Contra paleocons and the left, we shouldn't romanticize the "folks", often there ain't much there that is praiseworthy, and that isn't even the point. I'm not lionizing people like this guy. You start romanticizing the folks, calling them "real" this or that, and you're heading down a dangerous political path. Unlike a faux-populist or egalitarian, I'll come out and say that I'd probably look down on him, wouldn't want to know him, would not drink a beer with him.
Regarding race it's pretty simple- don't kill brown people for cash or to advance ideological goals, don't lock up large numbers of black people for cash or to advance ideological goals, don't distort reality for cash or to advance institutional and ideological goals (no matter how noble), don't get involved in the internal affairs of other nations, and help poor people, that we have here now, by recognizing their problems are external (economics and over-abundance of labor) and internal (indefensible decadence). In other words, you ain't helping 'em by lionizing and subsidizing single moms, promoting victimization narratives, and keeping those borders open.
I was talking about Kunino actually
who's much more of a conspiracy theorist then you.....(we might actually agree on many things based on your post....though not on globalization...I'm too much of a humanist)
Littleman Tate, if that really is your name. I hope you are writing books, and I do mean that in the best possible sense.
Let me explain what a conspiracy theorist is
This is a person who offers a gossamer web of wild and unpleasant ideas with no support in fact, or else pretend-factual support only by misrepresenting such facts asappear.
I try on all occasions to base my comments on reported and verified fact, and else, when something's not clear to me, ask other contributors to help all readers out with the facts as they know them.
Arguing with fact is a lot harder than slinging around abusive terms like, for example, conspiracy theorist. LIEBER's discovery that he can't work out whether I'm a crazed rightwinger or a crazed leftwinger points pretty clearly to the fact that I come from neither of the directions he can understand. The crazed and theorist parts of the insult is nonsense, since to support them, one would have to establish that my claims of fact are bogus. They ain't.
Thank you, LIEBER. You're very kind. Just as kind has been in recent months has been another BD contributor, at present on leave, who thinks it's insulting to suggest that I check my facts before putting them online. He's right.
too, that you are writing books, Kunino.
Please tell me you are being sarcastic.
Loved the accent, hated the content.
Best,
Tom
I suppose if this had been a gathering of British Muslims, we would be bending over backwards to analyze and address their grievances with the implicit assumption that such grievances are legitimate. But since this is a gathering of white Brits, we can breezily dismiss them as Tom has done. They are not protesting, they're spreading hate!
if Muslims are protesting their cousins being droned, they are radicals and bear watching, imprisoning and torturing. If they are complaining loudly about dead colonialists and reparations, then they have a legitimate grievance.
Muslims are an iffy category, on the one hand, as non-Europeans, they are useful to the Globalist Goodthink technocrat tyrants, but they can get out of hand.
Stick with West Indians, a much safer bet.
Yes, rape-gangs is what he says....
...... but with a belly full of beer and a head full of nonsense, it may as well be rayguns.
Try Google-ing the term Muslim rape gangs. The closest thing to a respectable news organization that is reporting this phenomena is the Daily Mail. Yes, that's the one: the newspaper Joseph Goebbels favored as his post-invasion mouthpiece. Most references are sourced to the EDL.Given that
This is the sort of rabble-rousing mythology the extreme right has always used on the fringes of British politics to, well, rouse the rabble.
In the 1930's it was the Jews who were the target until Oswald Mosley and his British Union of Fascists had the s**t kicked out of them by the East London dockers in October 1936. Post-war it was West Indians and Asians who became the focus of their hatred.
Given that the EDL and its predecessors has historically recruited its foot-soldiers from a small segment of English (not British) society that frowns upon such things as reading and education, it should come as no surprise that they are highly susceptible to this kind of simplistic, visually identifiable narrative to explain why their economic conditions are so dire.
The young man in the video is from the north of England, most likely a former industrial city that had its reason for being wiped out in Margaret Thatcher's "rationalization of British industry" in the early 1980's. These areas of the country have still not recovered to any significant degree. A new book on Mrs. T reveals that neither she nor her cabinet had any understanding of the social consequences of their policies and some were reportedly shocked by the mess they had made. Well, thanks to the miracle of YouTube we all just had a glimpse of the results of the economic miracle of Thatcherism.
As far as the implementation of Sharia law is concerned: its proponents point to the right of orthodox British Jews to run their own family court system and simply demand equal treatment. I suggest that anyone who really wishes to understand the intricacies of the debate on this subject should read the reporting and commentary in the Guardian or on the BBC website and not succumb to the hysteria being propagated by the likes of the EDL and their Daily Mail amplifiers.
Is it Mr. Zimmerman, white guy, or Senor Zimmerman, the Cuban?
I guess it depends if he is up to no good.
Steve,
there is a lot the press doesn't report, many stories that don't get any attention beyond local news, and an Orwellian use of racial and national categories that only the most dense person would not recognize. Witness the usage of the terms youths or teens in news stories that aren't pushing the notion that America is inhabited by closet Nazis.
When Humberto Garcia was executed, we were reminded he was a Mexican national. If he had wanted to get in on the Dream Act then we would have been informed he had lived in the US all his life, he was an American.
The editorial layer, and common consensus, contribute to obfuscation, standardization, and conformity.
I will agree that this anger is a result of government policies
and economics. And if that is the case, why then do our elites push further for neoliberalism and globalization?
Not knowing how to use Google, STEVE C claims ...
... that only one London newspaper is the source of all stories about Muslim rape gangs. My Google search came up with a plethora of sources for such reports, many of them -- like the Daily Mail ones -- being reports of criminal trials that resulted in guilty verdicts and long sentence.
Eager not to insult Muslims, many British newspapers have reported on these offences while describing the swine as " Asian rape gangs."
And the problem, clearly, isn' t just English, as STEVE C seemingly would like us to think it is. One of the high-priority responses to my Google search was this charmer: "The Sydney [Australia] gang rapes were a series of gang rape attacks committed by a group of up to fourteen Lebanese Australian men led by Bilal Skaf against European Australian women and teenage girls, as young as 14, in Sydney Australia in 2000. The crimes—described as ethnically motivated hate crimes by officials and commentators —were covered very extensively by the news media, and prompted the passing of new laws. The nine men convicted of the gang rapes were sentenced to a total of more than 240 years in jail. According to court transcripts Judge Michael Finnane described the rapes as events "you hear about or read about only in the context of wartime atrocities".
That Wikipedia page describes these as racial crimes. So they were. They were also Muslim crimes, comitted by men who wanted to destroy what they thought of as Christian society.
I repeat as earlier that some Christians have done recently exactly the same thing to helpless women who don't happen to be Christian. I add that most Muslims regard those rape gangs in exactly the same disgusted light as I, and presumably STEVE C, do. Muslim communities aren't cheering that stuff on.
I.LOVE.PRESS.TV. If it were my primary source of news, I would hate the West myself. I don't much about Iranian news sources, but I hope that the Iranians don't consider it legitimate. I've always heard that it was an educated populace; I have to believe they see it for what it is.
The Ghost of Enoch Powell Says "I Told You So"
In the last 50 years, the Western elites planned and implemented a policy of massive immigration from the Third World.
The immigrants were settled in neighborhoods previously inhabited by lower and middle-class natives.
Many of the immigrants continued to maintain the mores and customs of their native countries. Aside from cooking deliciously spicy food and listening to world music (is it still called that when it's not being played for yuppies?) these mores and customs included alternate modes of sanitation, different notions of female propriety and personal property, and varying means of enforcing social standards. A statistically significant minority of these immigrants and their children began to engage in predatory behavior directed towards their native neighbors, including the rape gangs this yob is talking about. BTW, this is not something specific to Britain. In French, the phenomenon is called a tournante (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dans_l'enfer_des_tournantes). In Australia, the same problem exists (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sydney_gang_rapes). In Oslo, the majority of rapes are committed by Muslim immigrants (http://www.aftenposten.no/nyheter/oslo/article4130999.ece#.T2jYcuXd6So). Etc.
The middle class has fled these neighborhoods at any cost ("uh, you know, better schools for the kids, plus the air is fresher in the countryside.") When the natives who are too poor and uneducated to get a job that would allow them to live in suburbia and commute to the city have the nerve to complain about being preyed upon, the elite makes fun of their stupid accents and ignorant racism. That's what you get for being dumb and white, you dumb white chavs! If you were enlightened, you'd enjoy the new vibrancy of your town, and tell your kids to do the same!
So true, especially the part about "vibrant" communities, which is just a euphemism for areas containing a preponderance of castrated upper-middle class whites and assertive, vigorous minorities. Apparently allowing one's country and culture to be transformed by mass immigration is a good thing and will never have any deleterious effects on the host culture - just ask Powhaten and his Algonquian friends ...
Multicultural Kool-Aid Backlash:
Take a mass of lower to lower-middle class formerly gainfully-employed workers, mix with a large amount of a historically hostile and alien immigrant groups, add a dash of globalization, and finally, stir in some upper middle-class elites and media types (to add flavor and make it go down smooth). Cook for 3 or 4 decades (timing will vary based upon the particular nation). Then serve to the populace!
How many languages can Enoch Powell speak?
How many languages can Enoch Powell speak?
English
Latin
Greek
Urdu
Being of Indian descent, I'm not a fan, personally, but he was a very fascinating individual.
When he was alive, aside from the four mentioned by our Indian friend, he spoke at least two more-Russian and Welsh. Since he tried to learn a language a year, I suspect there were quite a few more. He also became a professor of Classics at 25. As an intellectual, Powell made all of us here look like toothless hillbillies with an extra chromosome.
Only snooty American pseudo-intellectuals can't understand him
He is calling for the rule of law - not Sharia, Iraqi or Muslim law, but English law.
Does he have an accent? Sure. Just not one born and bred in Kabul, Karachi, or Baghdad.
Such sentiments - demands for the rule of law - are the backbone of our own American Revolution. I bet the accents of our founding fathers were a darn sight nearer to how this fellow than to how I speak nowadays.
No shortage of apologists for sharia, not even within high-falutin' Washington think tanks.
Sorry...couldn't help but think about an episode from "The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret".
....Wrong. Not so much rivers of blood but lakes of bile.
The reality that the immigration debate masks is that many working class people in the western democracies have found themselves in a place where they have become surplus to the requirements of their economic system and the people to whom they look for salvation - the politicians, economists, bankers and associated snake-oil salesmen - haven't a clue as to how you deal with millions who have been educated for factory work but have no factories in which to work. That our education systems continue to crank out factory workers is proof - if it were needed - that the smart people are not as clever as they believe themselves to be.
The young man in that video is probably of the third generation in his family for which the prospects of getting and holding down a job are virtually zero. Telling him it's the fault of those dark smelly people in strange clothes in the certainty that he'll believe it is but a further indictment of the level of education he has been subjected to.
Don't get me wrong, it isn't all the fault of the state. My guess is that he's never read a book in his life and has been brought up to believe that doing so is something to be scoffed at, whilst at the same time feeling that he is part of a superior race. When he looks around his neighborhood and sees Asians doing reasonably well he doesn't associate that with the hard work they put into their businesses and schoolwork he just wallows in the self-pitying belief that the immigrants are getting something to which they are not entitled on account of their origins.
Meanwhile, he will just retain the utmost pride in his ignorance and nobly fly that truly awful flag of St. George.
He wasn't railing against the Chinese
South Asian young men, in the UK, are often in competition for the decreasing amount of under-skilled jobs that kids like this one are competing for.
When one speaks with his counterparts in the US, outside of W on T inadvertently (officially inadvertently) promoted bigotry and general xenophobia (found everywhere around the world, but only a source of self-flagellation in the West) there isn't the resentment for South Asians that there is for Hispanics. Strange how that same group, South Asians, is perceived in different ways. Might have something to do with economic competition, which no amount of moralizing can explain away. Might also have something to do with the behavior Kunino alluded to. Where I am from in the US, most immigrants are decent people, but, and this is to expected with any young male-dominated population, there are incidents. Condescendingly brushing this stuff aside, as is usually done, does not deal with the problems and only consolidates resentment, leading to frustrated locals increasingly turning to demagogues.
Your post was largely correct- there is a surplus population, they have been smugly anti-intellectual, trained for and expecting an economic system which has ceased, and are feeling the hurt now. So we should just keep up the globalization business as usual? If so, let's be honest, we are sacrificing this fellow for the good of others. Let's have the decency to be upfront about it.
Explain the greater good to the young fellow, buy you haven't dealt with a) his job prospects which tie into larger issues such as family and masculinity and b) the sort of behavior by said gangs, which does occur, and is not fictional, and would disgust any decent person. I read sometime ago that in these Northern towns in England there is a decided tendency on the part of the older classes, who are equally clueless, to harshly judge the younger people. The oldsters had a job in the mills or mines, why can't these young layabouts do the same thing? Same thing in the us in economically depressed areas. Just another way neoliberalism and globalization destroys communities by fostering inter-generational resentment.
Until we achieve singularity, we will have people like this kid. Not everybody is fit to be a highly-skilled worker, the only answer to this unavoidable reality I see out of DC and London is to condemn them to the netherworld of under-employment and chavdom.
And to the other poster with the Elizabethan era quote, you don't know how apropos you are. The Tudor era saw the Enclosure Movement, a severe economic dislocation, the forerunner of later tragedies like the Irish famines or the Highland clearances. It created a surplus population, and a large number of vagabonds. There was lots of pontificating about the rise in crime, and judging the peasants, not the greedy sorts who drove them off the land to begin with, kind of like the way our elites aren't responsible at all for Globalization and attendant domestic decline.
Nothing new here-in the USSR, for instance, the inteligentziya allied itself with the lower class to wipe out the rest of the middle and upper classes. Those kulaks and petty bourgeouis wreckers didn't denounce themselves-their envious neighbors with the lower IQs and future time orientations dropped dimes on them. As a matter of fact, by the 1930s most of the NKVD's field staff came from the lower classes. The fact that this was a negative-sum game, from which everyone suffered in the long run, was irrelevant-the main thing was "who-whom."
It's hard to look back on domestic policy over the last 50 years and see it as anything other than class warfare by proxy. The destruction of domestic industry via massive regulation and co-option by the government have dovetailed with the encouragement of lower-class behavior by schools and entertainment to create a feralized lower class which has been set loose upon the middle through an abolition of freedom of association and the destruction of effective policing (outside of elite neighborhoods, of course-their inhabitants are, by definition, lawyered up.) Result=Murray's Fishtown and the Juggalos.
Our Progressive elite is not as virulent as that of the Soviet Union was, so the process hasn't been as bloody yet, but there's definitely been a raskulachivaniye. Of course, there's been some benefit to the whole thing-for instance, once the feral underclass proxies had ethnically cleansed big chunks of prime real estate of their annoying chav inhabitants, things were ripe for some gentrification by the yuppie elites and their hipster offspring. The whole thing is a negative-sum game, but in a democracy "who-whom" always trumps long term consideration.
_B_: Have you read "Destructive Generation" by Horowitz and Collier? Their thesis is that destructive behaviors engaged in by wealthy youth in the 60s and 70s became societal wide norms. The problem was that destructive behavior that wealthy people could survive was irrevocable disaster when poor people did it.
I've never heard anybody articulate how that could redound to the benefit of the upper classes until you brought it up here. I wonder if there is some sort of unintended symbiotic relationship here too. The upper classes control the distribution of welfare benefits and the middle class competes with the upper classes. The upper class then directs more resources to the feral lower class that will chase out the middle class. The uppers and lowers work to squeeze out the middle.
I also wonder if this is happening in an exaggerated fashion in South Africa. Unbelievably high crime rates that are perpetrated mainly by the lower class on other lower class people and the middle class. The uppers aren't affected. But the uppers control the cops who are so bad there they can't dent the crime. It is almost a payoff. Support us and you can rob a lot.
What do you think? I am still puzzling this out.
or perhaps it should be lagarevnaya kul'tura, either way it means "camp culture." I've googled it and never seen anything in English or Russian, but I could have easily missed it. Google isn't so great when it comes to the russophone internet. I've heard the phrase used by different people enough to regard it as a real idea. It refers to the horrific consequences: moral, social, and demographic of the Soviet experiment and the way in which the degeneracy of the prison camps leaked out into Russian pop culture. A good many Russian slang terms have their origins in prison cant.
"Feralized lower class" is a good way to describe what we've got in the Anglophone and Russophone world, the cultural safeguards that made possible decency and civilization are being slowly eroded away. When will people realize Rousseau was an idiot and that civilization is a complex thing that doesn't do well when people start tinkering with it.
Carl what you asked is basically Charles Murray's premise in his newest book. The upper middle class decided to play rookie for awhile, but then went back to serious business. Money is a great social safety net and a protection against degeneracy. It makes the difference between a generations-long tragedy of Zola-esque proportions and a couple trips to the Betty Ford detox. The lower class, who always have hovered on the edge of decadence, were not helped by doing away with shame. The only time they are shamed is when they are "intolerant" and/or obese, otherwise they can carry on. Indeed, tawdry familial forms such as nonexistent dads are now seen as a sign of independent, strong women, rather than poor mating choices.
>_B_: Have you read "Destructive Generation" by Horowitz and Collier? Their thesis is that destructive behaviors engaged in by wealthy youth in the 60s and 70s became societal wide norms.
Horowitz is a good primary source but a poor analyst. He is too bound to his democratic ideals to see that they inevitably result in what we have.
>I've never heard anybody articulate how that could redound to the benefit of the upper classes until you brought it up here.
I got this reading of history from Mencius Moldbug (whose Gentle Introduction To Unqualified Reservations I wholeheartedly recommend to those who aren't afraid to smoke intellectual crack rock,) who got it from, I think, Carlyle. Also Steve Sailer and Foseti write about it.
>I wonder if there is some sort of unintended symbiotic relationship here too.
The subconscious nature of this behavior makes it much more adaptive-most people just aren't smart or cynical enough to do something this wicked for their own benefit consciously. Nothing new here-people used to support slavery by putting sugar in their tea, without thinking of it in those terms, right?
>I also wonder if this is happening in an exaggerated fashion in South Africa.
It has happened in every single postcolonial country.
>It is almost a payoff. Support us and you can rob a lot.
Nothing almost about it. Aside from the encouragement of ferality by the castration of law enforcement it is encouraged by massive social programs transferring huge amounts of wealth to the underclass. Again, see Detroit-how much cash does that place hoover up? Now multiply that by 40 years.
I don't think the gentrification aspect was the explicit goal of all this to begin with-it is an unexpected side benefit that emerged late in the process. The roots of the process lie in basic tribalism, the Harvard/NYT/Beltway elites vs. the Archie Bunker hick townies.
I mean, think of all the Palin-type redneck Poles and whatnot who used to live in Detroit organizing into parties, imposing their unenlightened ignorance upon the rest of us-doesn't it make you sick? Or look at our host's visceral reaction to the chav in the video. A feudal-type patron-client alliance between the enlightened creme de la creme and the boue de la boue is just the natural thing to take care of that. Next thing you know, they're isolated in the suburbs. Well, since the Assyrians, a natural imperial method for taking care of potentially rebellious subject communities has been dispersal in exile. Isolated and dislocated, they can't get up to much trouble.
Add to that all kinds of education aimed at breaking down the townies' remaining social fabric, and next thing you know, Archie's daughter is a single mom raising his Juggalo grandson. Problem solved. A bit of mopping up in the reactionary refugia like the armed forces, and everything's grand.
The camps in Russia were, if anything, beneficial to the preservation of the remaining social fabric. Say what you will about the tenets of National Socialism, dude, at least it's an ethos. Meaning, the vory, the organized criminals, at least had behavioral codes they lived by. It was what happened on the outside of the camps that got Russian culture to its current bastardized state. It wasn't the ponyatiya that destroyed Russian culture-they were just the only code left when all others were destroyed or driven into exile.
As for when will the Eloi finally realize social engineering is a bad idea-it's awful hard to get someone to admit an idea is wrong when their lifestyle and prestige depend on believing it's right. Maybe once they get mugged by reality, but probably not even then.
Right, the American hereditary poor (as opposed to the temporarily poor) were mostly that way due to a low average IQ and future time orientation. A culture of libertine permissiveness turns dumb people into human trash (and makes smart people forgo reproduction at or above replacement rates.)
We'll have to disagree about the worth of the vor code, similarly the Italian mafia had claims to an honor code, but it masked an amoral, ruthless system, and when both systems encountered American style Capitalism, all claims to honor were dropped by the way side. The vor code is a bit of a joke these days in Russia, and similarly, young Turks like Lucky Luciano despised the so-called mustached Petes, the old-fashioned, old-world dons.
Mencius Moldbug is a must read, his technique of going back and using original source material, particularly Nineteenth-century stuff, as opposed to secondary or tertiary interpretations, is his strong suit.
I will say, though, I disagree with Mr. Moldbug vis-a-vis the South. Typical of most reactionaries, he has a soft spot for Dixie. My attitude is, if we are going to harshly judge the current dispensation for presiding over decadence, we must also judge the Southern aristocracy for ruling over a similarly decadent society.
A society's leadership should always be called to account for the type of society they lead, particularly when, as in the case of our moralizing cultural marxists or the old Southern colonels, they claim leadership through moral legitimacy.
And of course, Dr. Paul Gottfried's 3 volume work on the rise of the therapeutic-managerial state and the evolution of Marxism and Socialism from economic to cultural concerns and control is a must read.
Great way to try bypassing the issue of whether there are any Muslim rape gangs in Britain. According tp police officials is various parts of Britain, there are such things. The courts agree. Instead of facing this fact, SC has chosen to attack the messenger, snobbishly, and probably with remarkable inaccuracy. I read books and have done this among British people who sound and think much like the guy in the raygun video clip. They respect book reading, call magazines "books", and recognize as loss their inability to do it themselves. That inability is not general: many poor people read books in England. One reason that many Brits can't do that much is that lots of British schools have been very bad through the years. The raygun guy is, in part, product of the smooth highly educated folks who've designed the British national educational system for generations -- and decided a long time ago that it should in part be class-based.
I am of course sorry SC dislikes the flag of St George. It waves in many nations,
As to views of the world, I recently had the fascinating experience of lending a friend from the taigu of Siberia a book carrying the photographs of W Eugene Smith, a man close to being the best photographer of all time. My middle-aged friend, who left his homeland in recent years, was stunned by photographs showing how badly Welsh coal miners lived after World War II and waved the book in front of me as though it was a great revelation of an unknown and perhaps officially hidden reality. No, I said, these pictures were printed in Life magazine. Every interested person knew how coal miners lived and there were no attempts to hide this. Perplexed, my neighbor said: "We knew people lived like that in the Soviet Union, but we thought the west was completely different." I guess that presents, rather late, a victory of the Voice of America and associated Western propaganda tools.
I don't understand your point here. That's the problem with communication through sarcarm. It lacks clarity.
For your information, I'm a working class Brit who grew up in the industrial north of England and have spent most of the past 30 years or so being dismayed by the degeneration of my people.
I thought - when I was young - that we'd managed to rise above the kind of nonsense the young man in the video displays. Clearly I was wrong.
I don't know where it will go despite understanding where it came from. But one thing is for sure, this guy and his ilk will not turn out to be winners.
Sarcasm, of course.
"[T]here are of late divers blackamoors brought into these realms, of which kind there are already here too manie, considerynge how God had blessed this land with a great increase of people." - Elizabeth I to the Lord Mayor of London, et el, 1596
It is interesting that on this date, March 21, up next to the Best Defense banner with Tom Ricks' photo, there is a tease about this post. It says RACISM and under that it says 'Muslamic Rayguns'. It could have just as easily said SUPERCILIOUS CLASSISM then 'Muslamic Rayguns'.
Muslims from outer space!
Since this article appeared, two more such rayguns hav e been uncovered by police in Britain. One was definitely Muslim, the other is demurely described by police as having ethnicity similar to, um, other such enterprises -- meaning Muslim. The latter one was in the university town of Oxford, had been activebusiness for some years, and was having its fun with non-Muslim girls as young as 11. Even more distressing, if you think about those young kids, the police arrested 12 men: rapists' dozen.
In his extraordinary rant agains the London Daily Mail newspaper, STEVE C described it as hardly respectable and recalled that Josef Goebbels, a wellknown German who died in 1945, had decided that the Mail would be his newspaper of choice after a successful invasion of Britain. There was no invasion; Dr Goebbels died in 1945, after watching his wife murder their small children (cyanide in their sleeping mouths); nobody at present on the Daily Mail was alive in 1945.
Also new since that strange STEVE C message: the London society of newspaper editors has -- in something described as the press Oscars -- voted the Mail the newspaper of the year and the news websie of the year. In all, the newspaper won nine of these "Oscars", a record.
Evil man, that Dr Goebbels. Good judgment, it seems.
A full 80% of what are here being called "rape-gangs" (which are actually forced prostitution rings, not gangs roaming the streets looking for victims) and that have been uncovered by police, have been run by whites.
The event that gives rise to the allegations of Muslim rape-gangs is based on the arrest and prosecution of 56 men in a northern city, 50 of whom were non-white and Muslim.
Hardly a reason for a pogrom.
And the Daily Mail, award winning or not, is a very tacky newspaper.
