I'm not kidding.

As I write this, my two dogs are rolling around on the floor wrestling. After I finish this we are going for a walk in the woods. They suspect the ayatollah is just giving religious cover to national custom. They also think he probably is a damn cat lover.

LOLZ

But, to be fair, how many suicide bombers are *technically* Iranian? Yeah, they may subsidize them, but well... so does everyone else in the region, more or less.

Who doesn't like dogs?

While I got my Mullah credentials from the same school that gave Hunter S Thompson a doctor of journalism, I remember reading this hadith:

Sahih Bukhari,
Volume 3, Book 40, Number 551:
Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah's Apostle said, "While a man was walking he felt thirsty and went down a well and drank water from it. On coming out of it, he saw a dog panting and eating mud because of excessive thirst. The man said, 'This (dog) is suffering from the same problem as that of mine. So he (went down the well), filled his shoe with water, caught hold of it with his teeth and climbed up and watered the dog. Allah thanked him for his (good) deed and forgave him." The people asked, "O Allah's Apostle! Is there a reward for us in serving (the) animals?" He replied, "Yes, there is a reward for serving any animate."

This is different than when preachers tells people...

when things are unchristian right? Fact is religion is just as ridiculous here but when it tells us how to live, it's usually less repugnant to our cultural sensibilities.

Cultural relativity, it's hard to swallow.

I am beginning to suspect

I am beginning to suspect that he issues those for much the same reason the Pope makes new saints every single year. To keep people talking about them.

Maybe "barkas" would help?

Sorry ... couldn't help it.
