The crew of the Australian ship HMAS Success played all sorts of sex games, including in public on a pool table.
How is this inquiry superior to the US way?
Also, an outside judicial inquiry into US Navy practices could not bring criminal (or administrative) action against those involved for most of the allegations of misconduct (i.e., fraternization, maltreatment, etc.).
Dude, you are slowly losing it man. Are you really attempting to tie in the prison scandals and others with this so you can have an excuse to make ANOTHER statement on the war? Seriously, take-a-wrap-off
The Aussies and the Brits are better in some ways
The Aussies and Brits are better in some ways, they do no get their panties in a bunch over "mean" words, their idea of sexual harrasement is a lot different than ours and they let the "lads" actually go out and have fun on liberty instead of lecturing them on the evils of booze and local women. Our Navy has become populated by nerds and PC Boy Scouts in the Higher Ranks.
NOW I'm looking forward to watching Season 4 of the Australian drama "Sea Patrol"!
It's been recently reported that sexual harassment claims in the US military have increased 11% over last year. Over on-third of females and 6 percent of males filed complaints during the previous. Recipients of former NY Senator and Naval Lt Commander Massa's unsolicited ministrations might add to those numbers. As for The Ledger investigation, the HMS Success's commander should walk the plank. Or was he just wary that loose lips sink ships? Any sailor at sea for months on end can tell you there is hanky panky going on. Like any small town, everybody knows everyone's business. Captain included.
Well, adult games can be sometimes fun and even marines are people. They were having sex on on a Chinese bar's pool table, so what? Too bad they had it videotaped.
