I am not going to comment on yesterday's round of off-year elections. Why? Mainly because I've seen domestic political columnists and other such experts venture into foreign policy and military issues, and it ain't pretty. I always wonder if I would look as muddled as they do if I wandered over to their turf. So I am not gonna.

Tom, you couldn’t do a worse

Tom, you couldn’t do a worse job than most of our political pundits. Just look at how often they had to completely change their narrative as the last election cycle wore on. First Rudy G was the odds-on favorite, then it was Mitt, then Huckabee was going to win it for sure. McCain? He didn’t have any money and would be out of the race in the next few weeks. Oh, and Hillary, with her advantage in fund raising and her superbly organized campaign machine were going to grind Obama into the dirt. Oops, Obama is going to win but McCain is going to trounce him in the general election because of his knowledge and experience and because he’s a Genuine American Hero. If these folks were major league baseball players, they’d all have a career batting average of under .100.

Here’s a suggestion: write a political pundit post entitled “I’m glad it’s over.” You can’t go wrong with that.

It's quite clear . . .

. . . that the nation has repudiated the Democrats and especially the President and his radical socialist one-world-ism. It's also repudiated the star-spangled jingoistic family-values exceptionalism of Sarah Palin. And the Republicans have shown they want no truck with moderate conservatives even when they come with the Gingrich-seal-of-approval.

Great time for the Surprise Party to make its move . . .

Nailed that one

"... I've seen domestic political columnists and other such experts venture into foreign policy and military issues, and it ain't pretty."

Very tactful. Excessively cordial.

Excessive cordiality

I'll plead guilty. I think our country could use a bit more of that. I was down on the very tip of Virginia's Middle Neck yesterday, near the crossroads of Mathews, Va., and was struck at how cordial people were--a tip of the hat, a wave of the hand to a stranger--that goes a long way.
Best,
Tom

Wars? Foreign policy?

Since I've entered the political realm last July, no one has asked me about foreign policy. And that includes the media, donors, party people (local and in Washington) and political insiders.

But I've been asked the following:

* How much money have you raised?
* What have you done for the "Party?"
* How long have you been a Republican?
* Why don't you run for city council first?
* What is your position on immigration?
* Where do you stand on the Second Ammendment?
* How do you feel about same sex marriage?

Rehabs

Alcohol treatment cannot be equal to drug treatment. Moreover many “exclusive” treatment services in Los Angeles make the mistake of treating alcoholics and drug addicts the same method, while if the challenge faced by one group were similar to those faced by the other. But this cleanly isn’t the case. The fact is that alcohol addiction presents it’s wounded with a unique set of challenges on the road to recovery. An exclusive Rehabs center that fails to recognize that much, can’t ever possibly expect to help its clients get where they need to go.

The Cliffside Malibu understands the nuances of alcohol rehabilitation. Cliffside’s alcohol treatment experts are important numbers in the field, and take a fantastic wealth of knowledge to their work. Of all the fashionable alcohol rehabs existing, this is why Cliffside is the special alcohol treatment purpose for expensive clients from as far away as Thailand and the Philippines. It’s also why there should be no doubt as to where your interests will be best served.

Alcohol recovery is an extraordinarily easily broken process. To complete it successfully, you’re going to need exactly the right kind of care from exactly the right kind of caregivers. Cliffside Malibu can give it to you with their private alcohol rehab programs. All that remains, now, is for you to make the right choice. The day you arrive at Cliffside’s secluded private estate will be the day you start remembering why you ever believed tomorrow to be a thing worth looking forward to. For the sake of the people who care about you, here’s hoping you can muster the courage to do what you must.
