That's the story I saw in Haaretz: It is kind of a four-cushion shot, to wit: Bernard Kouchner, the French foreign minister, supposedly told the Lebanese government that the U.S. government recently gave the Israeli government a six-month deadline in which to freeze settlements, according to a Beirut  newspaper.

I have the same reaction I often do when reading hot stories in the British press: That's interesting, if true.
